Crazy Places to Read Competition
This event will take place on 17/07/2026 until 01/09/2026
Dear Parents and Carers,
I am delighted to share that Lees Library has kindly organised a wonderful selection of stage- and age-appropriate reading books, arranged into sections to help children continue enjoying reading throughout the summer holidays.
We wholeheartedly encourage all families to make use of our fantastic local library and take part in any summer reading activities and challenges on offer. Reading regularly over the holidays is a great way to nurture a lifelong love of books and keep those important reading skills growing.
📚 Crazy Places to Read Competition 📚
We would love to see photographs of your child enjoying a book in an unusual or imaginative place! To celebrate summer reading, we are launching our Crazy Places to Read Competition.
The child with the most creative reading location will win a prize. Ideas might include:
• Reading on a mountain
• During a boat trip
• In a tree
• At a concert
• In a blanket fort or castle den
• Relaxing in a cosy bath surrounded by pillows
• Upside down!
• On a rollercoaster (if you can keep hold of the book!)
Of course, we can't wait to see all of your own unique and imaginative ideas too.
Good luck, have fun, and most importantly, keep reading those wonderful free books available to borrow from the library. We look forward to seeing your fantastic photos and hearing about all the adventures your books take you on this summer!
